General Hatha Yoga Classes
Hatha Yoga is defined as the science of self knowledge. My approach to teaching conveys the way I have been learning Hatha Yoga for over 25 years. It is a systematic method which includes pranayama (breathing practices), asanas (postures), mantra (sound practices) and guided relaxation and gradually builds upon what you have learned the previous week. I find that in our modern busy lives we all benefit from something which revives body and mind and helps to relieve stress. Regular practice gives you a sense of ease in your own body but also calms and quiets the mind.
To make the classes more interesting I often include information about a yoga related topic. This is totally optional, just for those who want to delve deeper into the history and philosophy of Hatha Yoga. Recent subjects taught include: the Yamas & Niyamas (first 2 steps on this 8 step path), Introduction to Ayurveda (the science of self healing), The Yoga Sutras, the Chakras (energy vortexes) and the 5 Vayus (pranic currents).

Thursday evening class
St. George's Church Hall, St. John's Avenue,
Hillmorton, Rugby CV22 5HR
Mixed Level Hatha Yoga 7.30-9.00pm - term time only
Mixed level Hatha Yoga class. Please note this class is currently full and has been oversubscribed since January 2011. Please contact me if you wish to be on the waiting list for when a place becomes available.
UPDATE: A few students will be moving from St. George's to Cawston which means I'll have a few spaces available on this long oversubscribed class. Please get in touch if intersted!
Apologies no casual drop-ins. If you are available on short notice I am frequently able to offer a place to people on my 'standby drop-in' list for this class. This occurs if a regular member of class is going on a planned holiday, working late etc. I can then offer the place to someone wanting to come try this class and see if my style of teaching suits them.
One-off Yoga Workshops
I also teach yoga workshops. If you would like to be informed of these, please pass me your details for my contact list. I will not share your personal details with anyone else.
I was pleased with our efforts of raising just over £400 in just two 3 hour fundraising classes for St. George's Church Hall. Well done to all those who came out to support this community yoga.
